As part of Cre8ive Narrawong, Kang-o-meerteek’s community art initiative, local pattern designer Shelley Husband has designed a beautiful crochet square inspired by the project. Keen crocheters have been busily making squares using the pattern, with the aim of sewing them all together into a blanket by the end of the year.

There’s been over 70 squares contributed so far, and not just from Narrawong but from all over the world. If you haven’t made one yet, now’s your chance!

Come along to Joys Craftworx on 13 September to make a square with Shelley. Please note that you will need to have basic crochet skills, as this is not a beginner’s class.

You will need to bring :

• 4 mm crochet hook
• 8 ply machine washable wool in blue – 2 different shades
• scissors
• yarn needle

The workshop is free, but places are limited so please call Joy at Joys Craftworx on 5523 7190 to reserve your place.
